The 10th session period II 2025-2026 officially ratified
Criminal Adjustment Bill
became law, Monday (8/12).
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, and also served as a plenary session to close the session period entering the recess period for council members entering the new year 2026.
“The time has come for us to ask the factions for approval of the Criminal Adjustment Bill, can it be approved and passed into law?”Dasco said he asked for the meeting participants’ approval.

“Agreed,” answered the meeting participants in unison.
The Criminal Adjustment Bill was previously passed at level one in Commission III of the DPR on Tuesday (2/12).There are three substances in the Criminal Adjustment Bill which is being accelerated to take effect on January 2 2026.
First, the bill regulates criminal adjustments that are not regulated in the Criminal Code.
This includes the abolition of imprisonment, adjustments to fine categories, and restructuring of criminal threats to comply with the Criminal Code.
Second, the Criminal Adjustment Bill regulates criminal adjustments to regional government regulations which limit punishment to only fines.This bill also eliminates imprisonment in regional regulations.
Third, the Criminal Adjustment Bill perfects the provisions regulated by the Criminal Code.
Deputy Minister of Law Eddy Hiariej explained that the Criminal Adjustment Bill is an order from Article 613 of the Criminal Code which mandates adjustments to other laws with the Criminal Code, including the Regional Government Law.The Criminal Adjustment Bill will only contain three chapters consisting of 35 articles.
