“How optimistic, we are definitely very optimistic because you can see that this year’s SEA Games squad is very luxurious. There are Rafael [Struick], Ivar [Jenner], Marselino [Ferdinand], [Kadek] Arel, yes they will definitely get gold,” said Hokky.
Apart from Marselino, who is certain to not be joining the 2025 SEA Games due to injury, three other players Hokky said have the potential to work together to strengthen the U-23 Indonesian National Team.
In fact, Rafael, Ivar, Kadek Arel and Hokky could be the core players in the first match of the Indonesian U-23 National Team against the Philippines, Monday (8/12).
Hokky, Kadek Arel, and several other Indonesian U-23 national team players such as Rayhan Hannan, Robi Darwis, and Donny Tri Pamungkas already have experience facing the Philippines U-23 in the 2025 AFF U-23 Cup which will take place in the middle of this year.
Meanwhile, Rafael, Ivar and Dion Markx are several players who will not take part in the 2025 AFF U-23 Cup and have the potential to become key figures in the 2025 SEA Games.
