Buendia’s late goal was unfortunate for Arteta. This Spanish coach also revealed the reasons why the Gunners lost to Aston Villa.
“In the second half, we started very well,” Arteta told TNT Sports as quoted from

.
“We were very dominant, but then the same problem appeared again. We gave the opponent too much space. We lost the ball ourselves, to the point where it could have cost us, before it actually happened,” Arteta added.
According to Arteta, the defeat was painful. Not only did it happen at the last minute, but it also caused them to fail to get points and are now under threat from Manchester City and Aston Villa in the Premier League standings.
“Long goal kick, second ball, clean sweep of the ball. Individual action and a lot of chaos in the penalty box, and finally you lose the ball. So this hurts,” said Arteta.
The defeat against Aston Villa broke Arsenal’s unbeaten trend of 19 matches in all competitions. The last time Arsenal lost was when they lost to Liverpool last August.
