He added that the option of writing off bad credit is also included in the scheme that can be accessed by debtors in affected areas.
“Yes, of course, restructuring and eliminating bad loans,” he added.
Regarding the possibility of distributing large amounts of compensation as in Thailand, Airlangga said that this would still be looked into further.
He also said that economic developments in the three provinces still had to be monitored to determine the potential for a decline in growth.
“We will see future developments,” said Airlangga.
Airlangga’s statement is in line with the steps taken by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) which is currently reviewing the implementation of credit restructuring for MSMEs affected by floods and landslides.
OJK is currently still collecting data and assessing the possibility of implementing policies through OJK Regulation (POJK) Number 19 of 2022.
Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners Mahendra Siregar said the regulations contained various relief options that could be provided by banks and finance companies.
“In POJK 19 of 2022 itself there are various policies that can be provided and of course implemented by the relevant banking or financing industry
multifinance.
“Later we will look at it in full,” he said, Wednesday (3/12).

He added that financial institutions are obliged to follow the provisions set after the study is complete.
“We are currently carrying out this assessment process, we have got the numbers, but only temporarily. We will finalize them first so that we can report more completely than half-heartedly,” said Mahendra.
Flash floods and a number of landslides hit Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra due to extreme weather.
OJK has a regulatory framework through POJK 19/2022 to determine special treatment for financial service institutions in disaster areas.
The determination of affected areas is carried out by considering seven aspects starting from area size, casualties, material losses, to the percentage of affected debtor credit in the relevant sector.
