, Gun Retno was summoned by the Central Java Regional Police (Jateng) regarding allegations of obstructing mining activities.
The agenda for the summons was conveyed by a member of Commission VI DPR from the PDIP faction, Rieke Diah Pitaloka.Rieke said Gun was asked to appear for examination on Thursday (4/12) morning.

“The Central Java Regional Police’s summons to Gun Retno was based on Information Report Number: LI/152/XI/RES.5.5./2025/Ditreskrimsus dated November 18 2025,” he said in a written statement.
Rieke said that in the report Gun was complained about by Didik Setiyo Utomo because he was considered to be obstructing mining business activities that had a permit.
He then highlighted the status of the Kendeng karst which is currently critical due to lime mining.Karst mining, he said, is strongly suspected of causing flooding, damage to unique ecosystems and loss of people’s livelihoods.
Rieke explained that currently there are at least 17 mining activities operating in the Kendeng Karst Area.However, according to data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, only 3 mines are registered in Momi’s data.
“Two of them are still Reserve Areas (WIUP) but strangely there are already mining activities. The rest are illegal mines,” he said.
“The mining location is close to residential areas. From the image analysis carried out by JMPPK, there is a total of 31.4 hectares of mining area,” he added.
Therefore, he asked all parties to supervise the investigation process carried out by the Central Java Regional Police on Gun.On the other hand, he also requested that there be an evaluation and strict sanctions against mining business actors in the Kendeng karst area.
“Supporting the National Police Reform Team to monitor and oversee the investigation of Gun Gunarto, an environmental activist from the Sedulur Sikep Indigenous Community,” he concluded.
