According to him, Chinese companies’ interest in building textile factories in Indonesia occurs because there are many obstacles for these companies to export directly from their country.
“After they saw the possibility of exporting directly from China to America, there were many obstacles, they looked at places like Indonesia to relocate and that’s why recently quite a lot of textile companies have entered Indonesia which previously came from Vietnam and came from China,” he said.
Faisol said that the relocation of the textile factory from China would create jobs and increase Indonesian exports.
This is because the performance of the Indonesian sports equipment industry is currently in a competitive phase, especially in the United States market which is the main export destination for national sports equipment.
“Now we are still competing with Vietnam and Mexico, especially in the American market. Because our biggest export of sports equipment is to America and when America closed the possibility of exporting several times due to import duties, so in the end it was stopped, although it is slowly returning,” he concluded.
