A total of seven Indonesian citizens (

) is thought to have died in two incidents where the ship sank in the waters

The first incident was on December 14, where the Villa de Caminha boat carrying five people sank around noon local time.
Portugal’s National Maritime Authority (AMN) reported that the ship’s captain and one fisherman were rescued from the incident.Meanwhile, three other people who are Indonesian citizens are missing.

The search continued until December 16, but at that time the search ended in vain.
On Sunday (21/12), AMN found the bodies of two Indonesian citizens from this incident.One body was found at Moledo Beach, while another body was discovered at Insua Beach in Afife.
The first body was discovered at Moledo Beach at around 08.56 local time via the National Republican Guard.The discovery of the body of the second Indonesian citizen was reported at 11.30 at Insua Beach, via the Lisbon Search and Rescue Coordination Center.
Authorities believe the two bodies are Indonesian fishermen who disappeared from the Villa de Caminha boat incident.
Second incident
On the same day, December 14, four Indonesian fishermen were also thought to have died and disappeared in the sinking incident of the Carlos Cunha ship.
This incident allegedly occurred off the coast of Aveiro.However, the four Indonesian fishermen from the Carlos Cunha ship have not yet been found.
An AFP report said three other people from the boat were rescued.Of the three who were rescued, one was an Indonesian fisherman, but the Indonesian citizen was later declared dead.
Thus, the total number of Indonesian citizens who died in the two incidents was seven.In more detail, four Indonesian citizens from the Carlos Cunha ship are thought to have died and are still missing, one Indonesian citizen who was rescued from the ship also died.
Then, the two newly discovered bodies, according to local media reports, were also Indonesian citizens from the Villa de Caminha ship.
The number of Indonesian fishermen on Portuguese vessels has increased in recent times.This condition was supported after the government relaxed regulations limiting the number of foreign workers there.
