6 Police Undertake Ethics Hearing in Elang Eye Beating Case in Kalibata

(matel) to death in Kalibata, South Jakarta.
National Police Commission (Kompolnas) Commissioner Choirul Anam said that the Ethics and Professional Code Commission (KKEP) hearing was held at the TNCC Building at National Police Headquarters on Wednesday (17/12) today.
“That’s the information (the six eagle eyes ethics trial was held today),” he said when confirmed via short message.

The six police officers who underwent the ethics trial have been named murder suspects.They come from the National Police Headquarters Service Unit (Yanma), namely JLA, RGW, IAB, BN and AN with the rank of Bripda and IAM with the rank of Brigadier.
Previously, Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, said that the ethics trial of the six suspects was carried out after the filing of the Police Professional Code of Ethics was completed.
“So the follow-up plan from Divpropam Polri towards the six suspected violators will immediately carry out the process of filing the Police Professional Code of Ethics in accordance with existing mechanisms,” he said at Polda Metro, Friday (12/12).
The attack started when the two matels stopped a motorbike driven by police officers around the Kalibata Heroes’ Cemetery (TMP) on Thursday (11/12) afternoon.
“So the members actually used the vehicle, so this is what was behind this incident,” he said.
In this case, the suspects are threatened with Article 13 paragraph 1 of Government Regulation Number 1 of 2003 concerning the Dismissal of Police Members, in conjunction with Article 8 letter C number 1 of Perpol Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Professional Code of Ethics and the Police Code of Ethics Commission, which requires members to obey and respect legal norms.
Apart from that, they are also considered to have violated Article 13 letter M of Perpol Number 7 of 2022, which prohibits members of the National Police from committing violence, behaving rudely and inappropriately.
On the other hand, the six members of the National Police were also charged with Article 170 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code regarding beatings which resulted in the victim’s death.The application of these articles is carried out based on sufficient preliminary evidence.
“The National Police emphasized that this investigation process is still ongoing simultaneously by Polda Metro Jaya investigators and is backed up by investigators from Police Headquarters or Bareskrim Polri,” he said.
