Earthquake
with a magnitude of 5.5 rocked the Aru Islands, Maluku, on Wednesday (12/11) morning.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the earthquake occurred at around 04.23 WIB.

The epicenter of the earthquake was in the sea 60 km northwest of the Aru Islands with a depth of 10 km.
“#Earthquake (UPDATE) Mag:5.5, 12-Nov-25 04:23:32 WIB, Lok:5.30 South Latitude, 133.93 East Longitude (The epicenter of the earthquake was in the sea 60 km northwest of Aru Island), Kedlmn:10 Km Felt (MMI) III Dobo #BMKG,” read the BMKG warning at X.
So far, there have been no reports regarding the impact of earthquake damage.However, an earthquake was also felt in Dobo with an MMI III scale.
BMKG also confirmed that the earthquake had no potential to trigger a tsunami.
