“From the investigation process, four suspects have been arrested,” said South Sulawesi Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Pol Djuhandhani Rahardjo in his official statement, Monday (10/11).
The suspects are SY (30), a domestic worker from Rappocini District, Makassar, NH (29), a housekeeper from Kartasura, Sukoharjo, Central Java, MA (42), a domestic worker from Bangko District, Merangin Regency, Jambi, and AS (36), an honorary employee from Jambi.

The act of kidnapping the child started when the victim was left by his father who was playing tennis in Makassar, Sunday (2/11).Then SY (30) took the victim to his boarding house and then offered the victim via his Facebook account.
“NH then became interested and came from Jakarta to Makassar to take the victim with a transaction of IDR 3 million,” he said.
After that, the victim was taken by NH to Jambi via Jakarta and the victim was sold to AS and MA for IDR 15 million, on the pretext of helping a couple who had not had children for nine years.
“After handing over the victim, NH fled to Sukoharjo and admitted to having brokered illegal adoptions three times,” he said.
Meanwhile, AS and MA admitted to buying the victim from NH for IDR 30 million and reselling it to a tribal group in Jambi for IDR 80 million.
“They also admitted to having bought and sold nine babies and one child via TikTok and WhatsApp,” he explained.
The Regional Police Chief emphasized that the disclosure of this case continues to be developed together with Bareskrim Polri, especially the PPO PPA Directorate and the General Crime Directorate, to ascertain whether this network is related to other cases such as criminal acts of trafficking in persons (TPPO).
“The victim was finally found safe in the settlement of one of the tribes in Merangin Regency, Jambi. Currently the victim has returned with his parents and is undergoing medical and psychological assistance,” he concluded.
