One of the three victims, Pelda Yudi Gunardi from Subdenpom XX/E Padang Panjang, was found by the joint SAR Team after an intensive search for several days.
“Thank you to all the personnel and volunteers who worked hard until the deceased was found,” said Head of the Information Center for Kodam XX/Tuanku Imam Bonjol, Lt. Col. Kav Taufiq, in Padang, Tuesday (2/12).

The three soldiers were initially tasked with directing traffic due to the closure of the road due to landslide material.They also helped evacuate residents after a roar was heard from the river.But unfortunately, while trying to save the community, the three of them were swept away by the fast current of a flash flood that came suddenly.
Pelda Yudi Gunardi’s body was found on Monday (1/12) at around 17.00 WIB in the Mega Mendung area, Jorong Air Mancur, Nagari Singgalang, Koto District, Tanah Datar Regency.After going through the identification process, it was confirmed that the body was Pelda Yudi, a member of Subdenpom XX/E Pomdam XX/Tuanku Imam Bonjol.
After the burial procession, the body was taken to RST Dr. Rekso Diwiryo for burial.The plan is for the deceased to be buried with a military ceremony as a final honor in Sawo III Hamlet, Sungai Suka Village, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra.
“Pangdam XX/Tuanku Imam Bonjol expressed his deepest condolences for the death of Pelda Yudi Gunardi while carrying out his humanitarian duties,” said Lt. Col. Taufiq.
With the discovery of Pelda Yudi, the number of TNI soldiers who died in the incident was three.Two bodies were found last Friday (28/11).They are remembered as state servants who died while on duty to protect and help the community in the midst of natural disasters.
