Two light aircraft collided in mid-air during a formation flight over the Sydney suburbs,
Australia
on Sunday (30/11) one of the planes crashed, killing the pilot.
New South Wales state police said emergency response teams found the pilot’s body in bushes near the airport in Wedderburn, a suburb southwest of Sydney.

“Police were informed that two light aircraft collided in mid-air, before one of the aircraft crashed near bushes,” police said in a statement, reported

“Responding emergency services recovered the body of the pilot, who is believed to be the sole occupant of the plane,” police added.
The other plane that crashed was said to have landed safely at the airfield, and its pilot was not injured.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) said it was investigating the collision between the two planes, called Van RV-7 models, a self-assembled, single-engine, two-seater aircraft.
“As reported to the ATSB, the two aircraft were involved in a formation flight of four aircraft which were returning to land at Wedderburn Airport when the collision occurred,” the ATSB said in a statement.
“One of the aircraft involved in the collision landed safely, but the other aircraft crashed into terrain and the pilot was killed,” the ATSB said.
