Sarayuth’s scathing comments immediately sparked reactions from many circles, including from another former Thai player, Theeratheep Winothai, who is familiarly called “Lee So”.
Lee So, now 40 years old, and only four years younger than Sarayuth, responded directly to his senior’s comments on Instagram.
“Let’s encourage each other. Why do we insult each other? You are also a former national team player. Analyze and criticize as you like, but don’t insult them. When you play, you also don’t like being insulted. Show respect for other people. They are all your juniors,” wrote Lee So.
A few moments later, Sarayuth Chaikamdee uploaded an apology.”Sorry. I still support the Thai national team,” wrote Sarayuth.
Lee So then wrote his opinion again on social media to respond to Sarayuth’s attitude.
“Deleting posts and apologizing is the usual formula,” said Lee So, criticizing those who don’t think before posting insulting comments.
For Thailand, this is the fourth time in a row that they have failed to win a SEA Games gold medal.Their last victory occurred in the 2017 edition in Malaysia.
