Two
demonstrators
who took part in the demonstration last August were charged with the crime of destroying a car belonging to an employee of the Ministry of Home Affairs (

) and one motorized vehicle.The two defendants in question are named Neo Soa Rezeki alias Neo and Muhammad Azril.
The Public Prosecutor at the Central Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office said that the crime began when the two defendants were in front of Senayan Park, precisely under the flyover, Monday, August 30 2025 at 16.00 WIB.
The two defendants then heard the sound of the crowd at the DPR/MPR demonstration in front of Senayan Park or under the flyover.

“Witness Maulana Akhmad was driving a black Hyundai Palisade car with plate number B 2825 ZZH belonging to victim witness Timothy from the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs who was passing on Jalan Senayan Park, precisely under the Gelora Tanah Abang flyover,” said the prosecutor when reading out the indictment at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN), Thursday (20/11).
The two defendants then approached the car.After that, the two defendants saw several people throwing stones and bamboo at the car.
“Then the defendant together with witness Muhammad Azril and several unknown people heard the exclamation, ‘There’s the DPR, it looks like it’s the DPR!’while pointing at a black Hyundai Palisade car with plate number B 2825 ZZH,” said the prosecutor.
“Then the defendant (Neo) threw stones once at the back of the trunk and used a piece of bamboo to hit the side of the body in the middle, and witness Muhammad Azril alias Marshal also took stones and bamboo, then together they took turns throwing them at the black Hyundai Palisade car,” he continued.
Due to this incident, the car belonging to the Ministry of Home Affairs employee was damaged with the front right, middle right, rear right, rear left and rear windows broken.
“Then witness Muhammad Azril alias Marshal also burned a motorbike with plate number B 36020 COR which was in the parking lot but whose identity was unknown, so it could no longer be used,” continued the prosecutor.
The prosecutor added that a passenger named Maulana Akbar in the Hyundai Palisade car suffered injuries as a result of being hit by a stone.Apart from that, the witness named Suparno also suffered injuries to his left arm and a wound to his head.
“That as a result of the actions of the defendant and witness Muhammad Azril, the victim witness Timothy S.STP suffered a loss of Rp. 186,106,928,” said the prosecutor.
For their actions, the two defendants were charged with violating Article 170 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code and Article 170 paragraph (2) 1 of the Criminal Code.
