Immigration permits from 19 non-European countries were temporarily suspended by the Presidential Government

The temporary suspension starts with the immigrant application process, including the processing of Green Cards and US citizenship applied for by 19 countries.

Most of these regulations have actually been implemented since last June.The countries on the list include ASEAN, namely Myanmar and Laos.
According to the Reuters website, after the attack on members of the US National Guard in Washington last week, an official US government memo then explained this new policy.
Previously, in the incident, a man from Afghanistan had been named as a suspect.
In recent days, Trump has also strengthened his remarks about the Somali people.
He called them “trash” and said “we don’t want them in our country.”
This new policy will temporarily stop the application process which is still pending.
All immigrants from countries on the list must also undergo more thorough re-examination.If necessary, they may even have to undergo a re-interview.
Since returning to office in January 2025, Trump has made stricter enforcement of immigration regulations one of his priorities.
The Trump administration has often highlighted deportation efforts, but has not paid enough attention to improving the illegal immigration system itself.
